Bakersfield, CA  – Saturday August, 14th 2010 marked the second installment of Fight For Wrestling™ live from the Icardo Center on the campus of California State University Bakersfield.  In an epic battle to keep collegiate wrestling alive in Bakersfield, the “Fight for Wrestling™” team who promoted the first event last month at Cal Poly University was at it again.  Fight for Wrestling™ was conceptualized by MMA Promoter and Matchmaker Scott Adams to help out the Cal Poly Wrestling program from being eliminated like so many other programs. Fight for Wrestling™-“Bakersfield” is an event to do exactly the same for the “Roadrunners”.

All proceeds will go directly to the UC Bakersfield Athletic department ear marked for the Wrestling program. This event featured some of California's best up and coming fighters in an action packed night of MMA bouts .

Also on hand UFC noteables , former UC Bakersfield wrestler and former UFC Light heavyweight Champion Tito Ortiz,

and current UFC middleweight Champion Anderson Silva, left the fans excited to help the cause.

In the main event CSUB alum and former wrestler Brian “The Bandit” Cobb (16-6) faced off against Jon “The King of Late Night” Carson (9-3)  and made it a short night in front of his town stopping Carson by submission (rear naked choke) in 1:08 of round one.

Stact House veteran Jesse Bowen (7-5) from Merced looked to test his skills against Nor Cal Fight Factory’s crafty journeyman Alvin Cacdac (9-6) of San Jose, CA however the always tough Bowen, came up short on this night being stopped by submission (guillotine choke) in 3:12 of round one.

Bakersfield’s own Doug Hunt (8-4) looked to make it five in a row against “FFW- Cal Poly” main event winner Cruz Gomez (15-8) but this just was not his night being stopped at 3:27 of roundone, by tko ( ref stoppage due to strikes).
